AMAZULU caretaker coach Wilfred Mugeyi is hopeful that his South African side will emerge victorious tonight against Free State Stars after losing their last match against Chippa United.

The former Zimbabwe national team international wants an Amazulu response after the last outing ended in defeat.

Usuthu have gone eight matches with no Absa Premiership victory and have a paltry three points collected in the process, propping down the foot of the log.

Mugeyi says his players will need to respond against Ea Lla Koto and it is a crucial time now to turn their fortunes around.

“My centre-back Carlington Nyadombo, he will be back [from suspension] and that will be a plus for me. Larry Horaeb is ruled out again after picking up an injury against Chippa United.

“It is not the situation where we want to be, we are fighting for survival and we need everyone to be available but I have to do it with what I have,” he said.

The former Bush Bucks striker was buoyant after seeing Nkosinathi Mthiyane return from his long injury layoff. The winger suffered an arm fracture against Ajax Cape Town in the first match of the season.

There was also a welcome return for Ayanda Dlamini who had a chronic injury he picked up during pre-season.

However, Marc van Heerden looks a doubt due to a knee meniscus problem and he missed the clash against Chippa.

“With Ayanda, he hasn’t played for a while and Mthiyane has a long injury which he broke his hand and it was his first game. It was very good for them to have a run in the last game and in this game against Free State Stars they will be ready,” he added.

Usuthu will be without the services of Sadate Ouro Akoriko due to suspension. The Togolese international got a straight red card in the 3-2 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic in the Telkom Knockout – their only win of the season to date.
