ZIFA Matabeleland North league pacesetters Makomo FC will be out to underline their serious intentions to play in Division One next year by finishing off visiting Brazil in an early kick off at GVZ Grounds tomorrow.
The miners, now leading the pack with 54 points from 21 games, put on a sparkling performance to prevail 2-0 over a gritty Moto Moto on Wednesday in an outstanding fixture.

The team’s chairman Mernard Maera yesterday declared that more dazzling performances are coming as they seek to cement their grip at the apex.

“The display by the team against a stubborn side like Moto Moto was remarkable as the soldiers fought tooth and nail the whole afternoon. The boys are now psyched up for the onslaught towards the league title by demolishing everything that comes our way and Brazil will definitely go back to their No 3 Village licking their wounds,” declared Maera.

A lot will be expected from the likes of player coach Tapela Ngwenya who scored in the win over Moto Moto, Loyd Chimuchenga,

Lovemore Dube, Craven Tamirepi and Richard Mwalugale.

Brazil come into the match smarting from a 3-0 whacking by Hwange Under-17 last week and only a miracle will see them come out with something from this match.

In another early kick off on the same day, vastly improved sides Classic Luyando and Baobab Rovers clash at Chinotimba Stadium in a match set to have thrills and all the ingredients of an explosive match.

Later at the same venue, second placed Amagagasi, who are four points adrift of Makomo, welcome Moto Moto hoping the servicemen will fire blanks to enable them keep pace with the coalminers.

Lungile Nyathi, Petro Nyoni and Godknows Sibanda carry all the hopes for Amagagasi while the loaded guns for Moto Moto will be fired by the likes of Tabolwethu Dube, Shaibar Dimingu and Nkonzani Nkomo. In today’s round of fixtures Fire FC, who have suddenly lost their heating properties after two defeats on the trot to Blackrock (home) and Baobab Rovers (away), welcome Prison Eagles at Madumabisa Stadium hoping for a change of fortunes.

Zambezi Lions and Corinthians clash in a Victoria Falls derby at Chinotimba Stadium and both teams will be gunning for maximum points to have some relief given the two sides’ appalling form of late where they have been generously dishing out points to opponents.

Vic Falls Tigers play host to youthful Hwange side Iwisa at Chinotimba Stadium.

At the Colliery Stadium, Hwange Under-17 welcome Blackrock in a mouth watering Lwendulu derby set to attract a huge crowd.

Chipangano’s youth development side will bank on the exploits of Leon Ngwenya and Clayton Phiri while Blackrock’s Mernard Manyevere and Clifford Phiri have the skills of game changers.
