MATABELELAND South Netball Association will be holding their end of season tournament and award ceremony at Izimnyama Business Centre in Plumtree on November 29.Lionos Ndlovu, the association’s secretary general said the tournament and awards ceremony are the last events on their calendar and would be held on the same day at same venue.

“The events are the last events on our calendar and will be held at Izimnyama Business Centre in Plumtree,” he said.

Ndlovu said they will hold the tournament in the afternoon followed by the award ceremony at night.

He said the best goal keeper, defender, wing defender, centre, wing attack, goal attack, coach of the year and shooter of the season will be awarded prizes on the night.

Expected to grace the event is Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Andrew Langa and the Plumtree business community. Ndlovu said they chose the Izimnyama Business Centre because they held their mid season tournament at the same venue where villagers turned out in numbers to support the event.

“The community and teams gave us great support in our mid season tornament which was well attended, so we thought we should take it back there,” he said. Ndlovu said preparations for the two events are already underway and appealed to the corporate world who are willing to support netball in the region to come forward.

“We are already preparing for the event but our finances are not enough, so we are appealing to the corporate sector to help in any way they can,” he said.
