DYNAMOS coach, Lloyd Mutasa, has challenged his players to keep their feet on the ground as the Glamour Boys seek to continue with their fine run in the Castle Lager Premiership when they face a tricky home assignment against Yadah at Rufaro tomorrow.

The Glamour Boys, who recorded their biggest win this season with a 6-0 thrashing of troubled How Mine on Thursday, are high in confidence after stringing together four wins on the trot.

Mutasa, who was yesterday showered with praises by one of the club’s legends Memory Mucherahowa, said DeMbare needed to be cautious against Yadah.

“These are the kinds of games that demand maximum concentration. I think I have said it before that there are no easy matches in the second half of the season because no team wants to drop points,” said Mutasa.

“Remember when we played Yadah we won by a solitary goal and I am sure that it was a good indicator of how tough the game was.

“So we expect more of the same considering they have also beefed up their squad by bringing experienced players like Denis Dauda and Rodreck Mutuma.

“These are good players who always put maximum effort to win games. But we are prepared for them.”

Dynamos welcome back their influential skipper Ocean Mushure, the best player in the domestic Premiership so far this season, who missed the mid-week trip to How Mine.

Mushure was serving suspension after picking up three yellow cards.

Mutasa did not give his players rest yesterday as they proceeded for a workout hours after arriving from Bulawayo in preparation of the weekend game.

DeMbare have almost all their players available for selection except for injured utility man Carlos Rusere and defender Marshal Machazane who has asked for brief leave to attend to his ailing wife in South Africa.

Dynamos moved into third place on 42 points with two games in hand and are looking to increase the pressure on the leading teams in the race.

Chicken Inn sit on the summit with 45 points and they host Hwange at Barbourfields this afternoon while Ngezi Platinum Stars are two points behind and have a tricky home tie against giants Highlanders at Baobab.

FC Platinum, who are also in the top four, have an important home date against beleaguered army side Black Rhinos.

“When we look back at the beginning, at this stage after five games, we had seven points (actually they had four). But now after playing the same teams and same number of games we have 12 out of a possible 15 points, which is a plus on our side.

“The mentality in our team is good. It’s quite encouraging, moreso with the feeling that you go out there and you score six goals in one match. But I have always told our players that we should strive to keep our feet on the ground,” said Mutasa.

However, Yadah have warned Dynamos that they should not expect points on a silver-platter.

The Miracle Boys have been struggling of late but they stirred up their confidence with a 1-0 win over Chapungu in their last game.

Yadah are under the tutelage of interim coach, Thomas Ruzive.

Former Dynamos striker Mutuma will probably be the man to watch tomorrow in a team that also has exciting prospects like Leeroy Mavhunga, Wellington Kamudyariwa, Moses Demera and ex-DeMbare junior Leeroy Murape.

The Miracle Boys lost the reverse leg 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium.

Their chairman Everson Chatambudza yesterday said they are aiming to turn the tables.

“Dynamos are a big team. They have been doing well of late. We cannot take anything away from them but I think anyone who watched the first leg would agree with my sentiments that we were the better team.

“We were just unlucky that we conceded. For a small team like ours and playing the country’s most successful team for the first time it was bound to be tricky. But I think we have gained much experience and we are looking forward to even better performances.

“For the past few weeks we have been in the red zone and that win against Chapungu was good for us. Another win especially against Dynamos will obviously be a huge morale-booster to the boys,” said Chatambudza.
