THE Premier Service Medical Investments (PSMI) has opened a new pharmacy at Hillside Hospital in Bulawayo, the company’s Business Development and Customer Relations Manager Nhamo Marandu has said.

“PSMI has opened an outpatient pharmacy at Hillside Hospital. The pharmacy began its operations on October 16, 2015, and will serve the people of Hillside and its surrounding areas.

“Last year alone, PSMI opened two more pharmacies in Masvingo and Makoni, bringing our total number of pharmacies to 21. We shall continue with our aggressive drive as we make our services more accessible and right at our patients’ doorstep,” said Marandu.

The opening of the pharmacy is good news for patients and one of the first people to use the pharmacy, Sibongile Sibanda, said, “PSMI has responded to the needs of the patients. Hillside Hospital is a good facility but travelling to town for drugs especially for some of us who live in the area was a hassle. Now that the hospital has opened a pharmacy makes our life a lot easier. We can only say thank you to PSMI.”

Premier Service Pharmaceuticals (PSP) has added Hillside to its stock in Bulawayo with four more pharmacies operating at Standish House, Twin Towers Medical Centre, Nkulumane and PSP Robert Mugabe.

Commenting on the opening of the pharmacy, PSP General Manager, Caroline Maumbe, said the pharmacy is adequately stocked.

“Hillside Hospital serves a big catchment area and it was an inconvenience for the patients to travel to the city centre for drugs. The pharmacy is well stocked and the organisation hopes this will go a long way in helping our patients in Bulawayo to access their medical needs under one roof,” said Maumbe.

Hillside Hospital Operations Manager Dr Donald Kasipo said it was a milestone to have a pharmacy at the centre.

“The opening of this pharmacy has been long awaited and it will bring significant convenience to all our clients and the Hillside community at large,” he said.
