ALL national sports associations (NSAs) have been ordered to revise their constitutions making it mandatory for at least two women to hold executive committee posts by the end of next month.

Failure will lead to unspecified disciplinary measures.

The NSAs are also expected to submit their membership lists together with $4 per member as per the dictates of the Sports and Recreation Commission Statutory Instrument 342 of 1995 by August 31.

This was announced during the second quarterly meeting between the SRC and NSAs at the SRC head office in Harare on Saturday where 27 out of 48 recognised sports associations were in attendance.

The meeting was chaired by acting SRC director-general Joseph Muchechetere.

“Major resolutions were in relation to the NSAs reviewing their constitutions to include the ratio of men to women; at least two women should be in the executive committee. It was also resolved that if you serve as president or any other post for two consecutive terms, you may not contest that post, but any other post,” said SRC corporate communications manager Tirivashe Nheweyembwa.

He said financial years for all NSAs must now end on December 31 of each year.
