two main factories can produce up to 600 tonnes of packaging and 500 tonnes of PVC products per month.
The group company consists of two factories which manufacture polythene packaging and PVC products.
In a statement, the company said their wide range of packaging products manufactured within the division which is part of the Treger Group of Companies had created a wide clientele base for the company.
“Treger Plastics provides valuable packaging services to different sectors. The group company provides a valuable service to Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector by manufacturing a wide range of packaging for the tobacco, textile and food industries.
“The company also produces plastic sheeting for seed bed covers, greenhouses and fumigation purposes. Builder’s film is also provided to the construction industry and is used for damp proofing and roofing insulation,” said the company.
It also produces braided hose and supplies reinforced flexible piping to the mining and agricultural sectors.
The company said bread packaging had become an important part in the business because of the quality of products produced.
“Treger Plastics produces wicketted bread bags fully automatically which has become one of the company’s major lines of production. These bags are printed on central impression printers thus enabling us to supply the bread industry with quality products.
“One of our major achievements in producing these plastic bags is that Zimbabwe leading supermarkets are now the biggest buyers of carrier and flat bags and various plastic distributors buy plain and printed pouches for sale to smaller operators from Treger Plastics,” said the company.
The high quality of film produced by the company has enabled it to manufacture barrier packaging for foodstuffs such as long life milk, bacon, cheese and milk products. The company said as a result the factory produces most of the country’s maize meal, milk and sugar packaging.
The company’s PVC factory produces more than 500 tonnes of PVC compound, pipe and profiles per month.
The company said it had become a major supplier of PVC compound to the country’s cable, footwear and bottle industries.
Treger Products has several PVC profile extruders which has enabled the company supply a variety of rigid and soft extruded PVC profiles and sections thereby accommodating marketing demands.
