THE Zimbabwe Volleyball Association will hold its annual general meeting in Harare on Saturday.
The association president, Frederick Ndlovu, said among issues to be discussed is the 2015 programme. He said the meeting was also expected to come up with strategies of fundraising as they are supposed to send teams to the All-Africa Games and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic qualifiers.

“We’ll review the 2014 season, discuss plans for the 2015 calendar and ways to raise funds for the All-Africa Games qualifiers and the budget for 2015.
“We need to find solutions to the financial challenges we’re facing because we’ve to send teams to international competitions,” said Ndlovu.

He said they were counting on government support when it comes to sending teams to international tournaments.

“We’ve talented players that have proved themselves in the previous years especially in the Region 5 Club Championships held in Mozambique.
Meanwhile,  the National Beach Volleyball Series  tournament will again be held at Machipisa Community Hall this coming weekend. Elliot Mupariwa, the chief co-ordinator of the event, said they were expecting more that 20 teams to participate.

“This is one of the events that we’ll use to select a national team that will represent us in Tunisia and Algeria for the FIVB World Volleyball African and the Continental Cup qualifiers,” he said.
