VP Mnangagwa sets record straight

Tendai Mugabe, Harare Bureau
VICE PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa, who suddenly fell sick during the Zanu-PF Presidential Youth Interface rally in Gwanda in August, confirmed that though his doctors had ruled out food poisoning, he was indeed poisoned.

Addressing journalists last night to dispel assertions made by his counterpart Cde Phelekezela Mphoko on Tuesday that he had publicly declared during a memorial service for the late heroine Cde Shuvai Mahofa in Gutu on Saturday that he had been poisoned in Gwanda, VP Mnangagwa said he never said he was poisoned in Gwanda, but that he fell sick in Gwanda.

While reiterating that he never consumed ice cream from Gushungo Dairy before his sudden illness, VP Mnangagwa noted that those peddling such falsehoods were bent on creating a wedge between him and the First Family who own the dairy.

During the memorial service, the VP drew comparisons between his illness and that of Cde Mahofa who fell sick during the Zanu-PF conference in Victoria Falls in 2015.

Just as what had happened to the late heroine who was hospitalised in the country before being airlifted to South Africa, VP Mnangagwa had similarly been first checked in at a local hospital before being transferred to South Africa for treatment.

“It is indeed factual that I fell ill in Gwanda and was airlifted to Gweru then to Harare before subsequently being airlifted to South Africa,” he said.

“I never said that I was poisoned in Gwanda but that I fell ill in Gwanda. Equally, the late national heroine Cde Shuvai Ben Mahofa fell ill during the 15th National People’s Conference of Zanu-PF held in Victoria Falls in 2015. She was taken to hospital in Zimbabwe and subsequently to South Africa. Therein is the extent of the similarities of events which I alluded to during my address.

“During the briefing with His Excellency, the President, Cde R.G Mugabe, the medical doctors who attended to me ruled out food poisoning but confirmed that indeed poisoning had occurred and that investigations were still in progress. They however established that poisoning had indeed occurred and investigations were in progress.”

VP Mnangagwa said he informed the Zanu-PF Politburo and Central Committee at their meetings of September 6 and 7 respectively that he was not food poisoned, but did not rule out poisoning.

Commenting on VP Mphoko’s statement, which he described as subjective, VP Mnangagwa said: “It is most disappointing that a person at the level of my colleague Vice President, Cde R.P Mphoko would misunderstand and misrepresent the statements made by His Excellency, the President Cde R.G Mugabe and myself.

“It is thus disturbing that my colleague Vice President of the Republic, and Second Secretary of the party, Cde R.P Mphoko who is a trained cadre and veteran of the liberation struggle, would issue a statement which goes against the spirit and grain of the national Constitution founding values and principles and which is further alien to the revolutionary ethos, culture and decorum of our party Zanu-PF,” said the VP.

“It is further disconcerting that the statement is littered with subjective falsehoods, mischievous perceptions and malicious innuendoes written in a language and tone which is disrespectful and contemptuous to my person and indeed to the office I occupy, that of Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe and the party Zanu-PF. The statement is bent on causing alarm, disunity and despondency among peace-loving Zimbabweans and the intimated agenda in the statement may exist in the mind of the author.

“I have an impeccable history of unflinching loyalty to the party and His Excellency, the President, Cde R.G Mugabe and have never acted in a manner that undermines his authority or the stability of Zimbabwe.”

VP Mnangagwa said his commitment to unity, peace and stability was undoubted and unquestionable as enshrined in the national Constitution Amendment (No 20) Act 2013, Chapter 1, section 3(2) (h) which obligates the fostering of national unity, peace and stability, with due regard to diversity of language, customary practices and traditions.

In his statement issued in reference to a ZBC news article on Tuesday this week when he was Acting President while President Mugabe was on official business in South Africa, Cde Mphoko said: “Contrary to his (VP Mnangagwa’s) statement, his medical doctor, while briefing President Robert Mugabe in the presence of VP Mnangagwa, confirmed that Vice President Mnangagwa was not poisoned. At the Gweru Presidential Youth Interface Rally, President Mugabe revealed that three days earlier, he had met with Mnangagwa’s medical doctor in the presence of Mnangagwa and that the doctor, who has been attending to Mnangagwa for 20 years, told the President that his long standing patient had not been food poisoned.”

Interesting developments in the revolutionary party. The center is no longer holding and the fissures can no longer be masked right below the center. It is only a matter of time before the structure finally crumbles.

  • Colonel.

kikikikiki, i bet Jonathan will say, “oh well, i never saw that coming” lol

Why don’t they just kill each other and it over with?

  • Mugavimbi_Naledi

I just see earth being thrown out of a deep political grave … and digging it
(sweating, huffing and puffing) is the Butcher of Matebeleland –
Emmerson Mnangagwa!! And his ‘supporters’ are egging him on …..

How does any normal, decent, reasonable person EVER imagine Mnangagwa can be ‘supported’ to do anything? You have to be a totally Stone Age Karanga to think that.
Those Karangas this side of civilization …. DON’T!!!

Can someone now eventually cart this mass-murderer to Chikurubi … dump him there without the possibility of a trial

But what a dull, silly, stupid … UZ-student-like Statement. Does he
seriously think he has said something intelligent there? Honestly …
    really Lalizard!!

Is Mugabe afraid of VP Mphoko?
Mphoko said Tsvangirai attempted to assassinate Joshua Nkomo a pure lie Mugabe kept quiet. Tsvangirai complained.
Mphoko said Mugabe must leave office, step down and appoint a successor. Mugabe kept quiet. But the same was suggested by Tshinga Dube, Mugabe was all over the place angry and casting Tshinga Dube.
Mphoko said Command agriculture is nonsense despite it raised about USD 760 millions with farmers getting about USD 360 million. Mugabe kept quiet and yet he is the one who commissioned it.
Mphoko said ZACC is corrupt openly and he does not recognise it but ZAAC was commissioned by Mugabe.
Mphoko illegally opens jails and frees criminals. Mugabe keeps quiet.
Mphoko said the people of Bulawayo are good people for attending Mlala`s anti-Munanagagwa rallies with Chimemene and Sekeramayi minster of defence attending-such a sham event-the high court considers them as rebels but Mugabe kept quiet
Mphoko said the law makers in Zimbabwe are stupid and unqualified because thieves and fraudster should have their hand cut off-this is outrageous coming from a VP, Mugabe kept quiet to this hogwash. I think he is used by Mugabe to poison people in ZANUPF. Undenge was poisoned, Mahofa was poisoned, minister Dinha of Mashonaland Central escaped poisoning by a whisker at a rally when he was warned at the last minute. Comrade Rutanhire was poisoned -he eventually died in scotch cart being taken to hospital by villagers.
How was this dull person appointed a VP? Have we ever heard of any good work or thing he did apart from attacking the minister of justice whose laws are used by Mugabe even to appoint the chief justice and legal advice

    Fear fear fear. Following command

Iam sory to the one who is attacking the karangas. If mnangagwa butchered ndebeles ander the comand of his superior, the issue doesnt make mugabe’s hands clean moreover you cant paint us all with the same brush. Did mnangagwa represent the karangas? As karangas we are a people that will always stand by the truth and by the true ndebeles or zezurus or any other tribe. The person im responding to seems not to understand that a person of a certain tribe is not the tribe and does not represent the tribe. Myself i wont spare the president for the gukurahundi and 2008 mascre. But can we blame the shonas specifically zezurus, for the president’s actions? No. Each man for himself and God for us all. I urge you to be of sober mind before you post you statements. Above all mnangagwa is a cool guy who is ready to take the bull by its horns and in the process helping us out of bondage. During that time im sure personaly he has something to offer to our brothers and sisters of matabeleland who suffered at the hands of r.g himself. Personaly i have hundreds of ndebele relatives and they know the culprit. The culprit for the mascre 2008/or gukurahundi is rg and noone else. Plz dont attack shonas for rg’s actions coz we are all suffering and this is not what dr nkomo stood for. I urge you to be like dr nkomo who always stood for the truth and never ever looked down upon the shonas or karanga in particular. I love you

Unfortunately for you, this Gukurahundi issue is always tribalised by SOME among your very same Shona people that you are trying to excuse, who always link it to the 1800s tribal wars. I have never understood why the link, if we all agree Gukurahundi was all about political rivalry, and the one party state ZANU PF campaigns of the 1980s.

Even the Gukurahundis themselves; they forced Mthwakazi people at gunpoint to speak Shona and sing Shona songs – why this link, if I may ask?

With such an atrocious human rights record, your beloved Mnangagwa would never have been in government as a VP, later on even aspire to be a future President had Zim been a Western country.

But of course this is jungle Africa; where such nicities as human rights count for nothing. You can kill as many people as you like; ethnic cleanse as many as you like and you still get “elected” as President. Thats primitive Africa for you!!

Muammar Gaddafi is dead! Well we all know about that. But some of the thing you might not know. This is why I am writing this short article to let you know about his contribution to Libya. Yes he was not a good leader , he had many political problems. But still he has done some good work for his country. So, I have decided to share some of his good things.

If you are thinking I am a Gaddafi supporter then you are wrong. I am not a Gaddafi supporter , neither I am like other people who are dancing because he is dead. I am just sharing some of the good things by excluding the bad one. I know most of you are fed off, by listening all the bad things about him. Most of the people will argue about these facts but they arguably true.

Muammar Gaddafi’s contribution to the people of Libya:

    1. All the newly weds people of Libya used to get about 50,000 dollars from Government to lead a very happy life.

    2. Home is the basic right of every citizen of Libya.

    3. There was no electricity bill in Libiya. Electricity is free.

    4. No interest loan for the people of Libya according to Law. Gaddafi was against interest since interest is forbidden in Islam.

    5. Gaddafi has increased the literacy rate from 25% to 83%. Education expenses in Government universities are free in Libya.

    6. Medical expenses in Government hospitals was free in Libya.

    7. The price of the patrol was 0.14 cents in Libya. Yes we all know Libya has got good petroleum resources. But the price seems to be too low. Isn’t it?

    8. When Libyan citizen buys a car, Government used to subsidized 50% of the price of the car. 50%? sounds great!

    9. A huge bread used to cost only 15 cents in Libya.

    10. The GDP per capita of Libya is very high. Over 15,000 us dollars. Purchasing power was very high compare to the GDP.

    11. The economy of Libya was improving rapidly. In 2010 it had 10% growth. It has not external debts. It also has the reserves amount of 150+ billion dollars.

    12. Unemployment fees were given from the government until the person finds a Job.

    13. A Libyan mother used to get 5000 us dollars for giving birth a child.

There were some of the things people of Libya got from the Government of Gaddafi. I hope you have enjoyed reading about these facts, They are all past now. Libyan people are hoping for a better leader. Can they find their true leader? Please do comment and make sure to share the articles to let other know . Whats your view considering our situation

All he was trying to do is stop the U.S government from ruling the west and stop the U.S government from killing Muslims and Taking over.
