THE Zanu-PF Youth League national executive is set to visit Bulawayo province today to assess the province’s preparedness to hold the Presidential Youth Interface Rally.

Youth League chairperson Cde Kudzanayi Chipanga yesterday said even though there had been speculation in the media that the rally would be held this month end, a date is yet to be announced for the rally that will be held at White City Stadium.

“The national executive of the Youth League is coming to Bulawayo to assess the state of preparedness in far as mass mobilisation is concerned. So they will be coming as from Friday up to Saturday,” said Cde Chipanga.

Bulawayo and Harare are yet to hold Presidential Youth Interface Rallies following similar rallies held in the country’s other provinces where bumper crowds turned up to meet President Mugabe.

Cde Chipanga said the interface rallies in Bulawayo and Harare were unique as the provinces are the ones that are largely affected by economic developments in the country.

He said the rallies are coming at time when some malcontents are trying to sabotage the economy.

“The issue of cash shortages, fuel shortages and artificial shortage of basic commodities and all these funny machinations that are being done by the country’s detractors quickly affect the urban dwellers, before rural dwellers are affected, hence we are saying these two provinces Harare and Bulawayo are very important to us as Zanu-PF,” he said.

Cde Chipanga said the Youth League came up with the interface rallies as President Mugabe provides a tailor made message for each province taking into consideration, opportunities and challenges per province.

“We will present the challenges faced by the metropolitan province. We will present their concerns and His Excellency will have the opportunity to respond to their concerns and give them the Government’s plan as far as these efforts that are being undertaken by the Government for the betterment of everyone,” he said.

He urged members of the public not to miss an opportunity to interact with President Mugabe when the remaining rallies come to their province. — @nqotshili
