THIRTEEN primary schools will converge at St Thomas Aquinas Primary School in Bulawayo tomorrow for the annual Nissan Clover Leaf soccer fiesta.
According to the organisers the schools will be divided into two pools where they will play in a round robin format with each match lasting 20 minutes.
The tournament has seen an increase in the number of schools participating since it started in 2010 when 10 schools took part.
The main aim of the soccer fiesta is to instil a sense of love for the game in the youngsters who will later on in their careers be the backbone of the Zimbabwean representative soccer sides.

Host school sports director Chayilethi Nazombe urged parents to come and render support to the little ones.
“It’s an open event really but we would like to encourage the parents to come on board and support their children, it gives them motivation,” said Nazombe.

Schools expected to attend tomorrow’s event are Coalfields from Hwange, Goldridge from Kwekwe, Victoria Falls from the resort town, Portland from Colleen Bawn, Rhodes Estate in Matopos and Bulawayo-based schools Masiyepambili, Carmel, Centenary, Riverside, SOS, Petra and the hosts.

Former Railstars, Shabanie Mine and Highlanders player Collin Nyambiya will be the chief scout at the event.
