The tournament is sponsored to the tune of 120 000 rand by South Africa-based businessman, Charles Moyo.

Organiser of the tournament, Faith Silandulo Dube, said all was set for the end of year tournament and he promised fans a memorable tourney that will be capped with a musical performance by top artiste Oliver Mtukudzi.

“It’s all systems go now as you know that the draw was conducted two weeks back at Kombani Lodge,” said Dube.

He said Zanu-PF national chairman  Simon Khaya Moyo will be the guest of honour.

According to the draw, holders NRZ Tigers will clash with FC Kombani while Plumtree Academy will have to go past Highlanders to reach the semi-finals. For the social matches, Plumtree Social Club will entertain Botswana side, Botswana Border Social, with a titan clash expected between Bulawayo sides, Amavevane and Highlanders former players.

“Teams should register 22 players with 50 percent of the registered players being Under-20 as we want to promote junior development.

“This is however for the competitive sides as we cannot have Under-20s playing social football,” said Dube.

Former players like Douglas Mloyi, Peter Nkomo, Rahman Gumbo, Willard Khumalo, Jerry Sibanda, Johannes Tshuma, Thabani Masawi, Zenzo Moyo, Simon Sibanda, Tito Paketh, Alexander Phiri, Colsen Mabeza among others, are expected to grace the border town for what promises to be a fun filled day.

The legends are playing their first game since the tragic passing on of Adam Ndlovu in a horrific car crash a few kilometres before Victoria Falls.

A minute of silence in honour of Adam will be observed before the first games.

This year’s winners will walk away with $2 500 while the runners up will get $700. The third and fourth placed teams will pocket $400 and $300 respectively.

The top goalscorer will get $100  while the goalkeeper and player of the tournament will pocket $100 and $150 respectively.
