As finishes to Premier League games go, this was perhaps the most ridiculous in recent memory.
Eduardo Vargas equalised TWICE for QPR in the final five minutes, before a Steven Caulker own goal – almost the final kick of the game, and the second the home side put through their own net – sent three points the way of lucky Liverpool, who were below par for much of the game.

In the middle of a crazy final few minutes was a beautiful finish from Philippe Coutinho, minutes after Vargas’ first 87th-minute leveller, before the Chilean equalised again.

All that before Caulker put the ball in his own net, the fourth goal in the final eight minutes – and one that handed Brendan Rodgers a crucial win after a slow start to the season.

It was a sickener for QPR, who had looked the brighter throughout.
Skrtel’s poor challenge allowed Charlie Austin through nine minutes in. Mignolet came out quickly to smother it, before Austin swivelled to strike the ball towards the gaping net, sending it into the side netting.

The home side had better chances after. Bobby Zamora slid the ball across goal to Leroy Fer, who struck it against the bar when he should have scored.

And with 10 minutes to go before half-time, a goalmouth scramble saw Fer hit the bar for a SECOND time as Liverpool clung on.
The closest Brendan Rodgers’ side did come to scoring came just before half-time as Steven Gerrard, playing in a more advanced role, curled one just past the post.

Half-time brought little respite for the visitors as Simon Mignolet was forced into a brilliant save after the break, diverting Sandro’s drive wide, off the goal.

While Mario Balotelli looked disinterested at one end, Charlie Austin continued to cause problems at the other. His shot, just before the hour mark, zipped across goal from a narrow angle.

Balotelli’s day was summed up when he cleared the bar from only a few yards out with the goal gaping.
But Richard Dunne helped save the Reds, scoring his 10th Premier League own goal from Glen Johnson’s ball across the six-yard box.

The goal appeared to have knocked the stuffing out of QPR, who had been excellent for the most part of the game, but Mignolet was forced into another good save, parrying Traore’s header for a corner.

But then they got what they deserved – an equaliser. Austin, again, was in the thick of it, sending a looping header across goal for Vargas to power a header into the back of the net.

And only Skrtel’s out-stretched boot stopped Redknapp’s side from going ahead.
Then the rush. Liverpool broke with pace, resulting in Coutinho skipping past two and curling it, via a small deflection, into the bottom corner.

Job done? Not quite. Vargas headed home for a second time in injury time, and looked to secure a point, before Caulker put the ball in his own net to break QPR hearts. —Mirror
