It has been long since Castle Lager Premier Soccer League new boys Arenel Movers lost a competitive match, and this year they have gone for two games without registering a loss.

The Sweet Boys, who have managed to post two statements against Ngezi Platinum Stars and Chicken Inn, last  ost a competitive match when they lost 5-4 on penalties to Hwange in the Zifa Southern Region Division League’s Wafa Wafa knockout tournament cup final, they played at Colliery Stadium in October 2022.

The match had ended goalless after  regulation time. Arenel finished last year’s Southern Region Division One campaign unbeaten on their way to gaining promotion. However, Arenel Movers head coach, Farai  Tawachera says they are not going to read much into history as they will rather remain focused on the job at hand.

“It’s not  a bad start. Two draws are okay with us. It gives us belief and confidence going forward. Previous results are in the past. We need to work even harder because the journey is long,” said Tawachera.

Tawachera replaced Kudzayi Mhandire at the helm of the Arenel top job.

Mhandire was reassigned to the role of team manager, as he did not have the papers to lead the dugout in the topflight league.

Tawachera says the mixture of youth and experience has worked perfectly for his team so far.

“Most of our lads are new to top-flight football but they are enjoying the new terrain. So far, they are still trying to adapt to Premiership football but they will eventually come good,” said Tawachera.

Veterans Moses Jackson and Grey Kufandada  have been impressive for the newsboys.

“Grey and Jackson have been in this league before, they are just enjoying their time with the big boys without much pressure and they are enjoying their game. We are happy with the  shift they have put in,” said Tawachera.

Their next assignment will be against Caps United during the Easter Holidays.-@innocentskizoe
