THE ever unsteady Dynamos ship has once again been rocked following reports that the reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions owe their players winning bonuses for five games.
However, the club denies this and claims only the Caps United game in which the blue and white boys claimed a dramatic comeback to win 2-1 on Sunday, was outstanding.

Impeccable sources at the country’s most successful club told Chronicle Sport that the boys were owed bonuses for wins over Highlanders (1-0), Black Rhinos (2-1), Caps United (2-1) and the two draws with Chicken Inn (0-0) and Caps United (1-1).

“The only reason why they have been training is due to the influence of some of the senior players who have been telling the boys that the Dynamos brand should be protected. This was after some of the boys raised the issue during the Caps United game preparations,” said the source.

One of the senior players who spoke to this publication on condition of anonymity confirmed the simmering tensions over the bonus issue.

“It’s true that we are owed but my friend you should remember that we played against Caps United last weekend and we could not afford to lose that game. Some things just cannot be allowed to happen so we talked as players and agreed that DeMbare is a big brand and nothing should therefore distract us from winning our game against our city rivals as much as we put all our problems behind us when facing Highlanders,” said the player.

Dynamos secretary Webster Chikengezha denied that his executive owed players bonuses for five matches.

“As far as I am concerned we are up to date with our bonuses but if ever there are any arrears, it should be for our last game against Caps United,” he said.

Dynamos and their rivals Highlanders enjoy sound sponsorship from leading financial institution BancABC whose package covers the two teams’ monthly salaries with the clubs only taking care of other perks like winning bonuses.

DeMbare take on army side Black Rhinos in a league match set for Rimuka Stadium on Sunday.
