BORDER Strikers have been booted out of the Zifa Central Soccer League (CSL) after failing to fulfil last weekend’s match against Vumbachikwe.

Vumbachikwe were awarded the match on a 3-0 scoreline after Border Strikers missed their third consecutive game. According to the league’s rules and regulations, a team which fails to fulfil three matches on the trot is expelled from the league.

CSL chairman Stanley Chapeta said Border Strikers had failed to settle its affiliation fees hence the decision by the league management to bar it from fulfilling its fixtures.

This effectively means Whawha will be inactive this weekend as they were set to meet the border town outfit and have three points already secured.

The expulsion of the former Premiership side effectively leaves the second tier league with 15 teams.

Meanwhile, as league action continues today with log leaders Tongogara facing a tricky assignment against an unpredictable Vumbachikwe who have been on top of their game lately.
