ZIFA will at the end of this month hold a two-week Caf A licence coaching course meant to capacitate local coaches and improve the local game.An as yet unnamed Caf instructor will conduct the course and all local coaches with a Caf B licence have been urged to attend the course and upgrade their coaching levels.

It will be held at the Zifa Village, Mount Hampden in Harare from June 30 to July 13.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) would like to inform the football fraternity and the nation at large that the Confederation of African Football (Caf) has given Zifa the green light to hold the prestigious Caf A licensing course,” said the Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela yesterday.

He said the course was the highest qualification for coaches under the Caf licensing system.

The Zifa spokesman said the course was further evidence that the national association was committed to take football to greater heights.

Said Gwesela: “The course is further evidence that Zifa is indeed committed to take football to greater heights by having the most educated coaches in Africa. It’s indeed a great achievement to Zimbabwean football.”
