CHRISTIAN Brothers’ College (CBC) are expecting a tough battle when they tackle Kyle College from Masvingo in a schools’ rugby match in Bulawayo on Saturday.

CBC first team coach Neil Nisbert said his boys had to steel themselves for what should be a bruising encounter against one of their old rivals. He said they would be under pressure to win as a way of defending their home pride.

“We will have a tough encounter against Kyle College this weekend. The boys have to be at their best as Kyle will be looking to snatch victory away from home, but we’ll be prepared for any surprises they might have in store for us. Our energies in training have been focused,” said Nisbert.

“We’ll be under a lot of pressure since we’re the ones playing at home and we’ll be expected to use this to our advantage, but it’s not easy to play in front of your own fans. We’ll be targeting a win and nothing less because our pride is at stake and we’ll fight to defend that honour,” he said.

Nisbert said this weekend is packed with rugby fixtures that will see about 14 schools in action despite the big match pitting the Sables against Kenya in Harare.

“A number of the boys playing schools’ rugby also play for clubs such as Old Miltonians and Busters,” he said.
