IT’S derby time again in Kwekwe with Chrome Stars clashing against army side Tongogara today in a top of the table Zifa Central Soccer League encounter at Chrome Stadium.Tongogara powered to the top of the table after edging MSU 1-0 last weekend and will be hoping to overcome a largely youthful Chrome Stars that consists of players below the age of 20.

Both teams are tied at the top of the table on 16 points, although Tongogara boasts a superior goal difference.

Chrome Stars coach, Yolam Ngwira said his side was gunning for the championship and would attack from the first whistle in a bid to collect maximum points against the experienced army side.

“We’re a junior team and our main objective is to nurture these youngsters. As for the match tomorrow (today), it’s going to be tough considering that Tongogara have been doing very well, but we’re prepared for them and we’ll be looking for nothing short of maximum points,” said Ngwira.

His Tongogara counterpart, Ignatius Kapitapita declined to comment saying he had not been cleared to speak to the media by the club’s executive.

Elsewhere, Shabanie Mine, who suffered a 1-3 drubbing at the hands of Ivan Hoe, return to their home ground, Maglas Stadium where they entertain Kwekwe side Sable Chemicals in a must-win fixture to keep up with the season’s early pacesetters.
