FOR the second year in a row, Bulawayo disc jockeys (Djs) will shutdown 2017 in style at the Rainbow Hotel car park with a crossover gig as they celebrate the growth and appreciation of disc jockeying in Zimbabwe.

Unlike across Limpopo were Djs are celebrated, local wheel-spinners still have a long way to go in selling their trade to an audience that appreciates them only when they are in a night club music booth.

The wheel spinners that are expected to take to turn tables, at the show which is organised by Rainbow Tourism Group include DJs Nospa, Mzoe, Ericardo, Emmity Smooth, D bongs deeper, Prince Eskhosini, Jayza, Keatho and L-Roy coming all the way from Harare.

DJ Prince Eskohsini who is a guest DJ for the gig said that he was looking forward to shutdown 2017 with the best music set.

“People should come in their numbers. Last year when we hosted the gig it was well attended and we hope that this year it will be even better. Such shows are also a reflection that the Disc Jockeying industry is slowly starting to be appreciated and growing.  We hope that the rains won’t disturb us,” he said.

DJ Mzoe said that this year’s gig was going to be big and even better than the inaugural one they held last year.

“Compared to last year I believe that this year’s gig is going to be better in many ways. First we have included Djs from as far as Harare and in general we have increased the number of Djs. People should expect to see new skills on the decks and of course new music,” he said.
