SOUTH AFRICA-based Zimbabwean hip hop musician Mphoza Fresh last Sunday released an inspirational song that encourages people to be persistent in chasing their dreams.

Simply titled Dreams, the song that is based on his tear-jerking life experience was released on his birthday.
Born Mpho Dube, the 24-year-old who was raised in Bulawayo’s Luveve suburb said he is a vocalist who subscribes to the adage “Dreams might be blurry but they are possible!”

“Dreams talks about my life story, how I grew up and lost my father at a young age. Growing up, I never had a great foundation and endured a lot in my childhood. I also went through the dim days monetarily as we just had one provider – my mum in a group of four.

“My mom forfeited a great deal, her entire salary was ascribed to covering off our bills and fundamentals. So fundamentally, the Dreams song selects the piece of me wishing that one day, I’ll make it and assist my mother who forfeited her life to give us a heavenly life,” Mphoza Fresh said.

He said things seem to be looking up as his dreams seem to be coming to fruition considering how positively his music is being received .

“Another reason why I said ‘Dreams might be blur, but they are possible’ is because I had dreams back in the day and now, they’re coming to light. My music is going viral and my following on social networks is growing.

“Next year, I’m going to be signing a contract with a certain record label and this is going to be a big turning point in my career.”

Mphoza Fresh discovered his passion for music when he was a teenager upon realisation that he was good at rapping poems.

“I started rapping with poems that I used to write. I felt good about my rapping and I challenged myself to record a single. To my surprise, it became a hit and people actually forced me to do more because they loved the hit. As a result, I got inspired and motivated to do more music up to today,” said Mphoza Fresh.

He said he released his first single in 2019.

“In the dusty streets of Luveve, I found my passion. I released my first song in 2019 titled Winning and it became one of the greatest hits ever released. It forced a lot of doors to open wide for me in the music industry.” – @SeehYvonne
