AFTER a successful collaboration with award-winning rapper Msiz’kay, Dr MTK (real name Mthulisi T. Keswa) has upped the ante with the production of his forthcoming 11-track album titled The rise of Bantubuntu.

Themed, “Awakening of the untamed African generation” the project, to be launched tomorrow is a mirror to Africanacity.

The album will be released on digital platforms, radio stations which will then lead to a follow-up concert later on.

Dr MTK told Chronicle Showbiz what the gist of the album was all about.

“The album is all about promoting Southern African culture and realising who we are as Africans. Gaining our true identity through the daily struggles we face in the local rural villages to the dusty streets of ekasi, recognising and appreciating the Will of God in our lives (either good or bad) but trusting and knowing it will bring out positive results at the end of it all,” was DR MTK’s explanation.

The project was overseen by seven producers where even Dr MTK himself tested his mixing and mastering skills. Other producers who had a hand in the album include the Zim Hip Hop Awards nominee Tha Dawg, Msiz’kay, Pride Bongani, Y Stan, Cosmo Roinuj and Luca.

Dr MTK’s album comes after releasing Warfare in the Wilderness, his first EP in 2017, which was followed by another one titled The Most High. – @eMKlass_49
