ED appoints ministers Minister Frederick Shava

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has appointed new ministers to replace Cabinet ministers who died last month with Zimbabwe’s ambassador to the UN Ambassador Dr Frederick Shava taking over the Foreign Affairs and International Trade portfolio.

Zanu-PF Chikomba Central legislator Cde Felix Mhona has been appointed Transport and Infrastructure Development Minister.

Dr Shava replaces national hero Dr Sibusiso Moyo while Cde Mhona replaces another national hero Dr Joel Biggie Matiza.

The appointments, done in terms of Sections 104 (1) and (2) of the Constitution, were announced by the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, yesterday evening.

He said the appointment of Dr Shava, “will take effect upon issuance of an appropriate Gazette as Senator for the Midlands Province.”

President Mnangagwa appointed Chimanimani West legislator Cde Nokuthula Matsikenyeri Manicaland Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution filling the gap left by national hero, Dr Ellen Gwaradzimba who also died last month and was buried at the national shrine.

Cde Mnangagwa also re-assigned Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Deputy Minister Mike Madiro to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development.

Beitbridge West legislator Cde Ruth Maboyi is the new Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage while Makonde legislator Cde Kindness Paradza is the new Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services.

Cde Paradza replaces Cde Energy Mutodi who was relieved of the position last year.

Dr Sibanda said Cde Mhona holds a Masters of Business Administration Degree and Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Marketing) while Cde Matsikenyeri holds a Bachelor of Education Degree and a Diploma in Education.
Cde Maboyi, Dr Sibanda said, is a holder of a B.A. Education and Administration; M.A. in Public Administration and M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy while Cde Paradza is a holder of a number of Diplomas and Certificates in Journalism. — @themkhust.
