We want to believe right thinking Zimbabweans were taken aback, bamboozled, amazed if not surprised to learn that the Mr Morgan Tsvangirai led MDC-T is opposed to Zimbabweans taking over their means of production. On the eve of independence when the nation was preparing to celebrate 32 years of independence, Mr Tsvangirai unashamedly surprised all and sundry with his bombshell when he stated categorically that his party was opposed to the economic empowerment of Zimbabweans.

He said his party was going to attend the independence celebrations under protest over the theme on economic empowerment. The theme for this year’s celebrations is “Indigenisation and Empowerment for Social and Economic Transformation”. Mr Tsvangirai said  his party protested against the theme in Cabinet last week.

“We rejected it because we find this a repugnant theme which sounds more of a slogan for a political party than an inclusive, peace-building theme which should be determined through consensus,” he was quoted as saying.

The big question is — whose interests is Mr Tsvangirai and his MDC-T party serving by opposing economic empowerment of Zimbabweans? The gallant sons and daughters who sacrificed their lives to liberate this country should be turning in their graves because of such reckless utterances from people like Mr Tsvangirai who are saying they are comfortable to continue being hewers of wood and drawers of water.

When Zimbabweans took up arms to fight the settler regime, their aim was to liberate us from the shackles of colonialism so that we are not only free but take over our resources which include among others land and minerals. It is therefore an insult to the dead and the living heroes of our              liberation struggle when people like Mr Tsvangirai publicly announce that they want the master/servant status quo which existed before independence to be perpetuated.

What message is Mr Tsvangirai sending when he says he is opposed to empowering of the people? What he is saying is that he enjoys a situation whereby Zimbabweans continue to wallow in abject poverty in the land of their birth. Mr Tsvangirai and his party are telling the nation that they are      content being employees and not employers. The MDC-T leadership is openly confirming that it is happy with the present scenario whereby chief       executive officers of companies are just figureheads who do not make any decision but are just there to window dress in order to deceive the nation that there is management change. These are CEOs who have been groomed not to make decisions and as such are very afraid of change. They fear the unknown so to them owning a company is an insurmountable task because they are used to taking instructions as opposed to making business decisions.

It is time Zimbabwe says no to such CEOs who are nothing but fronts of their colonial masters who are running the companies behind the scenes. The  Government should not be detracted from its thrust of economically empowering its people by traitors who are just singing for their supper. The taking over of the means of production is irreversible and the first phase which was taking over the land has already been accomplished and the second phase is taking over companies and let the detractors be rest assured that there is no going back on this resolve. Those found bickering would only have themselves to blame when they are left behind by the freedom train.
We want to once again remind those who miss serving their masters tea that Zimbabwe will never be a colony again so whites are never again going to be masters in our motherland.
