Members of the public are welcome to attend the burial and are also welcome to our house after the funeral,” said Barry.

He expressed gratitude for the support his family received from people across the country following the death of his father who had kidney problems, among other health complications.
“We would to thank the community in Bulawayo and the whole of Zimbabwe for being so good to the family. We’ve been so overwhelmed with the kindness from people here in Bulawayo and in Zimbabwe,” added Barry.

Dr Bloch’s other son Mark appealed to members of the public wishing to bring flowers to instead make donations to the Island Hospice.
“Instead of bringing flowers, I suggest that the people donate in cash or kind to this home from where the nurses who assisted him until his death came from,” he said.

Dr Bloch was born on April 2, 1939 in South Africa before he came to stay in Zimbabwe where he worked as an accountant, a director of a number of companies, an office bearer or trustee of many local and international trusts.

Dr Bloch is survived by three sons Raphi, 50, Mark, 48, and Barry 46, a daughter Ruth, 43 and 16 grandchildren who live in Israel, the United Kingdom and Australia.
