The national team technical department made up of head coach Frank Farakazi and his assistants Max Ruza and Enock Mutema dropped 12 players from the 30-member squad that went into camp at the Zifa Village last week.
The Futsal national team players are drawn from the Southern and Northern regions, which have running leagues.
Players from the Southern Region have all along been training under former Warriors striker Agent “Agila” Sawu while Farakazi was in charge of Northern Region.

Former Highlanders juniors’ player Adrian Makwelo, who is also the Southern Region captain, goalkeeper Bhekuvuyo Dhlamini, Blessing Mpofu of Binga, Royal Ngwenya, Ceasemore Ndlovu, and Clever Chivero made it into the national team.
Gift Mugabe who plays for Black Rhinos and Farai James Madora who is younger brother to ex-Dynamos striker Edward Sadomba are some of the players in the team who are expected to lead Zimbabwe to victory on Saturday.

Team manager Michael Musagwiza said they were                         happy with the training facilities and the players were raring to go.
“The players have really been working hard and competition has been intense. Everyone is looking forward to the Sudan game and they know that this is an important match for us. We have to win it at all costs so that we enhance our chances of progressing to the next round,” said Musagwiza.
Due to lack of resources, Zimbabwe had a week to round up their preparations. The return leg is set for 22 April in Khartoum.

If Zimbabwe beats Sudan, they will face South Africa in the next round set for next month.
The Futsal World Cup will be played in Thailand in November. The last finals were won by the host nation Brazil in 2008 with Spain being champions in 2000 and 2004.
Musagwiza said the composition of the squad was made up of young and veteran players.

“We are building a squad for the future and the team has experienced and ambitious young players. There are some five-a-side players who are in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and should the coaches feel that we need them to beef up the squad, those necessary changes will be made,” said Musagwiza.
