FOUR teams are set to fight for the Fortune Fokoza Foundation Under-14 soccer tournament in Entumbane on Saturday.

Last year’s winners Zebra Revolution FC will be out to defend their title against Entumbane Academy, Highlanders FC and Ajax Hotspurs FC.

Winners of the tournament will walk away with a trophy, kit, medals and five balls, while losing finalists will get medals and four balls.

Third and fourth-placed teams will walk away with two soccer balls each.

Spokesperson of the foundation, Mike Dube, said the player of the tournament will undergo a one-week trial with Sporting CP Academy in South Africa.

“This time we have actually grown bigger than what we promised last year in terms of prizes. We have managed to get sponsorship from BOC Gases and everything is now set. This time the player of the tournament will get a chance to go to South Africa and if that player makes the grade, they will get to travel to Portugal. On top of that the player will get a full soccer kit,” said Dube.

He also said other individual prizes will include the top goal scorer award, most skilful player, goalkeeper of the tournament, coach of the tournament and 11 best players.

The tournament is the brainchild of former Motor Action and Bantu Rovers winger Fortune Fokoza Ncube, who retired prematurely from football after suffering an eye ailment. Ncube then turned to football development soon after retirement.

Ncube is now based in neighbouring South Africa where he is a coach at Sporting CP Academy, who have links in Portugal.
