FOUR Bulawayo Metropolitan Darts League matches were not played on Wednesday night due to the absence of some of the teams’ players who were preparing to travel to Mutare for the Heroes’ Darts Tournament.
Lethukuthula Nkomo, the league’s spokesperson, said that the games were postponed because most of the clubs would have been depleted.
“The four games were postponed because most of the players were getting ready for the trip to Mutare today,” said Nkomo yesterday.

Nkomo said the postponed matches would be played as soon as the players return from Mutare.
“The league games will definitely be played as soon as the provincial team returns from Mutare,” he said.

Two teams with a total of 24 players have been selected to represent the city in the Heroes tournament at the border town.
Support Unit Fairbridge captain Luckson Tshuma had previously said that a majority of his players would not be available due to work commitments.

ZRP Bulawayo were supposed to clash with Support Unit Fairbridge while Archers were due to meet How Mine.
The other two pairings would have had Railstars clashing with PPC Wolves and Bellevue squaring off with Khami.

Meanwhile, in the league games, hosts Highlanders surprised Parkview Lions with a 26-13 win with New Dawn edging Old Nick 20-19, while Maison Nic lost their match against Wise Waters 17-22 and Parkview Kanka beat Zimbabwe School of Mines 22-17.
