Memela, will first grace our screens on October 10.
According to the producers Mpumlwana will play tough-minded media mogul Mawande Memela – wife, sister, aunt and mother of two.

Determined to create an undeniable legacy for the Memela family name, Mawande epitomises the modern-day businesswoman.
“She is strong yet fallible, she stands proud but willingly humbles herself. She is not only unafraid of her femininity, she relishes it.
“I am looking forward to a growing relationship with her,” says Mpumlwana.

She says when Generations offered her a contract 14 years ago, she declined before joining.
She says she had a long road to travel on her career path, and was not ready to settle down.
“This time around I have done most of the things I wanted to do.

“I was busy making major changes both in my personal and professional life.
“The timing was perfect, so I gladly took up the challenge.”

Mpumlwana auditioned with such top actresses as Brenda Ngxoli and Bubu Mazibuko and came tops.
Meanwhile, Sonia Sedibe recently resigned due to her poor salary, saying she does not feel she’s valued as one of the country’s top actresses.

The Generations publicity department says they will issue a statement this week after consulting with Mfundi Mvundla and his producers. – Sowetan.
