UNBEATEN this season, but winless in their last four league meetings against Chicken Inn, visiting Caps United might want to make a big statement of their intentions this season when they face the Gamecocks at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

It will be a test of character for both Chicken Inn and Caps United when the two sides collide in the potential thriller.

Caps United, who are the table toppers will be making their first visit to Bulawayo this season.

The Green Machine are on pole position having collected 11 points from their five opening encounters. Makepekepe are a point ahead of defending champions FC Platinum.

It’s still early days in the league but one cannot take away the good start Caps United have made to the season given they finished last season a club in chaos.

Their next test which is Chicken Inn will surely be a statement on what should be expected from the 2016 champions.

Chicken Inn, who have made it clear they are chasing the league title are on position nine with seven points. They are undefeated this term with four draws and one win.

One has to go back to the 2018 season when Caps United triumphed over the Gamecocks.

Last season Chicken Inn completed a double over Caps United. It ended 1-0 in favour of Chicken Inn in Harare and 2-1 in Bulawayo. The previous season Chicken Inn won 1-0 in Bulawayo and 3-1 in Harare.

Match day six fixtures will get underway on Friday when ZPC Kariba and Manica Diamond do battle at the National Sports Stadium.
