FORMER Warriors and Highlanders FC coach Rahman Gumbo has been sacked by Botswana outfit Morupule Wanderers after a string of poor results.

His side had managed three draws and three defeats in the first six of the Botswana Premier League.

His last match was a 1-1 draw with Holy Ghost on Sunday where an equaliser from fellow Zimbabwean Dominic Chungwa rescued a point for Wanderers.

This also means that Gumbo has been sacked twice in a space of 11 months as he was also dismissed by another Botswana side in Sua Flamingoes.

Wanderers have not yet communicated on their online platforms and efforts to reach Gumbo did not bear fruit.

They are in 15th place with three points after six matches and will be hoping for a positive result in their next match which will be a tough one against defending champions Jwaneng Galaxy.

Meanwhile, Triangle United FC has parted ways with coach Thulani Sibanda with four games left before the season ends.

He will be replaced by his assistant John Nyikadzino who joined the club during the course of the season having started off at Gweru-based side Sheasham.

Social media was yesterday awash with news that Sibanda had been fired over poor results but the former Bulawayo Chiefs coach says he had a mutual agreement with the club to leave.

“Yes, l have left the club. We mutually agreed to separate. I wish the team well. I am confident Nyikadzino will be able to grind positive results in these last games and ensure the team retains its Premiership status,” said Sibanda.

He could not be drawn to comment on his immediate or future plans in football management.

Sibanda, who joined Triangle at the beginning of the season, is a holder of a Scottish C-License and also has a degree in Sports Science from the National University of Science and Technology.

He is presently working on attaining a Caf A coaching badge which he is studying for in Tanzania.

The Sugar Boys are facing relegation from the top-flight league as they are in position 16 on the 18-team table. They have 31 points from 30 games this season, winning just five games and losing nine. Triangle has the highest number of draws this season with 16 stalemates.

With 12 points left to play for, Triangle are in real danger.

They lost to Cranborne Bullets at the weekend and cannot afford to drop any further points this season.
