FIVE key Old Miltonians players are scheduled to undergo late fitness tests ahead of tomorrow’s clash against Matabeleland Busters in the National Rugby League.
Victor Chiwara, Velile Dube, Nelson Madida, Jason McKay and Francis Nakamu are all set to be assessed before they are deemed to be fully fit for the epic tie.
The Bulawayo derby will be played at Hartsfield Ground with in-form Matabeleland Busters tipped to win against their city rivals who are 10 points behind after six matches.

Matabeleland Busters are on position four with 22 points and seem to be on track of making it for the end of season semi-finals while their opponents are two places down the table.

Old Miltonians go into the match smarting from a 9-74 defeat to second placed Old Georgians and they believe that they can upset the star-studded Matabeleland Busters who have won three matches in a row. Last weekend Matabeleland Busters clobbered Zvishavane Bulls 87-0.

Theo Weale, the Old Miltonians manager said they were ready for Matabeleland Busters and  was confident his charges will raise their game.
“Derbies are always self motivating because there are bragging rights at stake. They have a strong squad but they should brace for a stiff game because we are ready to give them a good run for their money.

“There are guys that are injured and have to pass late fitness tests and if they fail we will have to do with those that are there,” said Weale.
George Savada and Tawanda Mhora have been singled out as the best players at Old Miltonians and are expected to play brilliantly when attacking or defending backed by captain Michael Zvakavapano.

Matabeleland Busters coach Rueben Kumpasa has warned his squad against complacency .
“The problem is that some players might think that Old Miltonians are a weak side and that is very dangerous as doing so can only be detrimental to our game.

“We have to play as if we are taking on champions because any slip up will allow Western Warriors to close in on us. We might having a better points lead as we occupy the fourth place but that can turn out to be nothing if we don’t collect maximum points. I have demanded total commitment from the guys,” said Kumpasa.

Western Panthers, who are under the guidance of experienced mentor George Mukorera, are sitting on position five with 14 points in the nine member league and take on second placed Old Georgians in Harare.

In another fixture Harare Sports Club will take on Gweru Sports Club with seventh placed Mutare Sports Club entertaining defending champions Old Hararians (OH).
