THE Zimbabwe Under-21 national team  yesterday crashed Lesotho 88-13 to maintain their fine run at the ongoing World Youth Netball Cup qualifiers in Gaborone, Botswana.

The win over Lesotho was their third on the trot, having opened their qualifiers with a 46-24 win over Zambia before brushing aside Namibia 38-20.

An elated Team Zimbabwe captain Felistas Kwangwa said they were confident of going through to the World Cup finals to be held in Botswana from July 8-16, 2017.

Four countries, including hosts Botswana, will represent Africa at next year’s finals.

“It’s all going according to plan so far and we remain confident of going through. We just have to beat Malawi and Uganda in the next two matches to make our work easier when we take on South Africa on Friday,” said Kwangwa.

They meet Malawi at 11AM today in a match which Kwangwa said would test their pedigree, as Malawi were a good side.

“We shall see what happens, but we are ready for them much as they are ready for us,” said Kwangwa, who led Zimbabwe to a gold medal at the 2014 African Union Region five Under-20 Youth Games.
