THREE people were arrested for fatally stabbing a man at a nightclub.

In a statement on X, police said they arrested Nomore Chirembwe (26), Steven Mutasa (21) and Tafadzwa Kapeta (32) for killing Devoted Chimufombo (23) on 1 December 2023 in Hatcliffe Extension, Harare.

The incident occured during a drinking spree after they allegedly accused the victim of provoking them.

Police appealed for information that may lead to the arrest of another suspect identified as Dee.

” Police in Borrowdale have arrested Nomore Chirembwe (26), Steven Mutasa (21) and Tafadzwa Kapeta (32) in connection with a case of murder which occurred in Hatcliffe Extension, Harare on 01/12/23 in which Devoted Chimufombo (23) died. The suspects accused the victim of provoking them during a beer drinking spree at a night club before assaulting the victim indiscriminately. The suspects later stabbed the victim once on the left back knee with a knife and they fled from the scene.

“The victim succumbed to the injuries sustained.”

“ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of the fourth suspect only identified as Dee, who is being sought in connection with this case. Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station,” reads the statement.
