WARRIORS’ utility player Milton Ncube will be in action this morning when his team Ajax Cape Town reserves battle it out with their Maritzburg United counterparts in the MultiChoice Diski Football Challenge at Tuks Stadium in Pretoria.
This is a league meant to give game time to Under-23 players with only three who are over the age limit eligible.
The former Highlanders utility player has not played any league and cup games this season for his new paymasters. He was on the bench when the Urban Warriors demolished Tendai Ndoro, Energy Murambadoro and Tinashe Nengomasha’s Mpumalanga Black Aces 3-0 in Cape Town last weekend in the Telkom Knockout Cup.
Ncube will be in action today at 10AM against Maritzburg and at 2PM tomorrow against SuperSport United’s reserves.

Urban Warriors coach Roger de Sa told Chronicle Sport: “We have decided to give Ncube an extra game time as he has never played any official games for the team. I have selected the team that will be playing in the Diski Challenge and I have given the Zimbabwean a fair opportunity to familiarise himself with Absa Premiership games. He is a real gem, I will use him on the left back or left midfield where I believe he has a lot of potential in that department.”

The Urban Warriors coach said: “At the moment it is really difficult to change a winning team as we are in second place behind log leaders Kaizer Chiefs in the league. I need Ncube soon as the league is getting tough for our young players. We believe his experience in the beautiful game will help us a lot in fighting for the league championship but I don’t want to put any unnecessary pressure on our players, we need to take each game as it comes.”

Ajax will host Amakhosi at home in Cape Town on October 18.
This afternoon South Africa will clash with Congo-Brazzaville in an African Nations Cup qualifier in Point-Noire, Congo. (4:30PM SA time)
