UNPREDICTABLE Mosi Rovers threw spanners into army side Moto Moto’s ambitious project to clinch the Zifa Mat North League after disarming the soldiers with a famous 2-0 win at Chinotimba Stadium on Sunday. Their win blew this fascinating league race wide open after Week 18. Second and third placed sides Ingagula and Baobab Rovers welcomed this shock result by posting crucial victories of their own on Saturday during a weekend of twists and turns.

Tyson Ncube and Thabani Ndlovu’s goals were enough to bombard the army base.

Ingagula edged Tenex 1-0 courtesy of a Rashid Chipande solitary strike while Rovers whacked Amagagasi U19 3-1 with Albert Zulu (brace) and Able Ncube taking part in the demolition. Shelton Chuma got the face-saver for Amagagasi U-19.

Classic Luyando continued with their revival as they edged hapless Blackrock 1-0 at Lwendulu Old ground with an early Craig Dina settling matters. Corinthians were hammered 3-0 by visiting Lukhosi Pirates with Pirates’ Braveman Mathibela (brace) and Moses Khumalo ensuring a rout.

Trumus Warriors edged Hotspurs Leopards 2-1 at home with Brian Tshuma and Brilliant Sianzoka getting the goals for Warriors while Macdonald Lunga pulled one back for the visitors.

Hwange U17’s 2-0 win over league anchors Iwisa completed the weekend programme with the Chipangano developmental side getting the goals through the boots of Wellington Ngwenya and Proud Shara — @tobymandox.
