BULAWAYO is the gift that keeps on giving. Barely a week after the Intwasa Festival KoBulawayo showcased a vast array of talents, a book launch is on the cards for avid readers in the precinct as motivational speaker Thokozani Archie Nyoni launches his first book titled “If I had… Success beyond Excuses and Procrastination.”

Last week, there was a book launch and public reading programme held at National Gallery meant to cultivate the reading culture and a number of books were launched there, signalling the commencement of careers in the literature industry.

Riding on the wave of authorship and the endorsement of the reading culture, Thokozani is launching his debut book on the 2nd of October at Mimosa House.

American author and speaker John Maxwell once said: ‘Readers are Leaders’ and Thokozani wants to champion this breed of “leaders who take initiative and are problem-solvers” in his debut book.

Commenting on what the book contains, the 24-year-old author had this to say: “My newest book titled “If I had… Success beyond Excuses and Procrastination” is what l like to think of, as an appetiser to my content. In this book, we talk about problems and my own personal recommended solutions. It is ten times easier to make excuses than it is to take action, but we all know that, ‘Excuses don’t bring positive results.’

“When you could read this book, you would find the courage to face your fears and self-doubt, start taking action and stop procrastinating on your dreams. The book is written with the purpose driven intention to boost your confidence, inspire action and communicate the Why’s and How’s of dealing with Excuses and Procrastination.”

The author seeks to create and foster a mentality of facing problems objectively so as to find sound solutions than to shelve them for later as this may prove to worsen the situation.

He articulated that the book will “deal with the problem of not dealing with problems.”

Published under the Pentelocut Publishers stable, Shortie, as Thokozani is popularly known, worked closely with

Samantha Nomaswazi Nunu, one of the founding directors of the publishing company.

In this work of art, Thokozani also shows gratitude to Heart Flames Distributors for marketing his literary piece to reach a wider audience.

The auspicious occasion will be graced by special guest Carl Joshua Ncube, a stand-up comedian and author.
The launch of the book will serve as a prelude to another one entitled “Failure is a form of success” that is lined up for early next year.
