NDOLWANE Super Sounds fronted by Martin Sibanda will be performing at this year’s Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo by popular demand after thrilling fans at last year’s edition.
Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo will run from 23 to 27 September under the theme “Unforgettable”.
Festival director Raisdon Baya said because of Ndolwane Super Sounds immense talent that kept festival goers on the dance floor last year, they had heeded a call to bring them back for this year’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

Usually Ndolwane Super Sounds and other groups perform on the Chibuku stage situated at the Large City Hall car park during the festival.

“The Kalanga Marabi music outfit returns to Intwasa for the second year running after mesmerising fans at last year’s festival. The band, which is known for its fast rhumbaish sounds and nimble footedness, is part of Intwasa’s 10th anniversary celebrations by popular demand. To many they are by far the group of the moment from this region,” he said.

Baya added that Ndolwane Super Sounds’ incorporation into the festival was in line with the aims and theme of the festival, which is to promote cultural diversity.

“In line with making the music at Intwasa diverse and unforgettable, the 2014 edition of the festival is playing host to Martin and Ndolwane Super Sounds. Like previous editions this year’s edition of Intwasa celebrates human diversity and creativity under the theme Unforgettable. There is always something for everyone at the festival,” he said.

Fresh from holding shows in the Midlands, Plumtree, Bulawayo, Gwanda and Matabeleland North, festival audiences and Ndolwane fans can look forward to a playlist that features both old and new songs which have sent many wild on the dance floor.

Martin and Ndolwane Super Sounds have 14 albums to their name and have released hits like Bakhuzeni, Uthandoluphelile, Donsa, Sekukubi, Sunduza, Kudala Ngisebenza and the timeless Uhluphile which will keep the audience on their feet.
