TWIN brother of Mpumalanga Black Aces and national team striker Tendai Ndoro, Takudzwa has set his sights on joining his sibling in the South African Premier Soccer League where he is being monitored by a number of clubs. Takudzwa, arguably the best goalkeeper in Botswana in the season which finished last month guided his Botswana Defence Force (BDF XI) to Mascom Top8 glory and was in contention for the competition’s goalkeeper of the tournament accolade.

The 29-year-old goalminder believes he is ripe to ply his trade in South Africa and cut short his holiday as he left Bulawayo for Durban on Sunday.

“I am off to South Africa and I will link up with an agent that my brother Tendai has organised for me in Johannesburg. At this stage I cannot tell you the name of the guy but once I have met him I will let you know.

“From the communication that we have been having with the agent there are three clubs who have seen my videos and among those are Amazulu and Chippa United. He said there is also a First Division club that has inquired about my services and I hope everything goes well,” said Takudzwa.

The former Railstars juniors and Zifa Southern Region Division One Soccer League outfit Kujatana FC of Victoria Falls goalkeeper said his brother’s exploits in South Africa could have paved his way to Super Diski.

At Amazulu, he will compete with his countryman Tapuwa Kapini.
“As much as my brother helped with the contacts, I have also done well in Botswana. I have been a constant performer for my club and I started getting calls from people who wanted to be my representatives during the course of the season but I wanted to discuss with Tendai before making any decisions because he is already in that league.

“I am excited with going for trials and I have confidence that I will get a job there and maybe by the grace of God I will also get a national team call up,” said Takudzwa.

He said his contract with BDF XI has expired and he has been reluctant to sign for a Botswana club having set his sights in South Africa.
“Actually I wanted to come back and play home. I had a chat with Chicken Inn who were keen on having me on board but I thought I should give a shot in South Africa first. If I fail to make the grade, I am coming back home,” he said.

Chicken Inn have since signed Pride Zendera, a goalkeeper who had been playing in Swaziland.
