TANZANIAN League Champions have heaped praise on Zimbabwean duo of Donald Ngoma and Thabani Kamusoko as the duo were vital cogs in their championship campaign.

Young Africans lifted the championship last week with two games to spare ahead of their rivals Simba Stars and Azam.

It was the first championship medal for the two former FC Platinum players who joined Yanga at the beginning of the season.

Kamusoko had missed the medal with Dynamos and Njube Sundowns

“As Yanga we are very proud of Donald (Ngoma) and Thabani (Kamusoko) for their sterling role this season.

Yes we play as a team but the two guys have been outstanding.

We just wonder why they have not been called to the Zimbabwe national team,” said Yanga official.

Ngoma has made 11 assists for leading goal scorer Hamis Tambwe from Burundi.

Tambwe has 21 goals while Ngoma has banged 17.

Young Africans are now the holders of most points by Tanzanian champions after reaching the 74 point mark and can even extend it if they win their last match against Majimaji on June 23.

The two players were joined last weekend by their wives in Dar es Salaam to celebrate their success.

“I thank the Almighty God for this achievement and I hope he will continue to shower me with his blessings. I also cherish to play for my country one day,” said Ngoma.
