Lovemore Zigara in Gweru
SHURUGWI-based Nichrut will be hoping to put their championship campaign back on track when they take on ZPC Munyati away in Munyati in a Zifa Central Soccer League encounter.

Nichrut, who went into the mid-season break in pole position, relinquished top spot to Whawha after losing 0-1 to TelOne when the season resumed a fortnight ago.

Nichrut coach, John Nyikadzino said his side needs to bounce back from the TelOne setback and post a positive result this afternoon.

“We mean serious business, especially after the loss to TelOne. We have gone back to the drawing board and as we travel to Munyati, we are going there with one thing in mind, and that is to collect maximum points,” said Nyikadzino.

For the Nichrut travelling party, former Dynamos striker Jacob Muzokomba will be facing his former paymasters, having left the power generators during the midseason transfer window.

“I know the attention will be on me tomorrow, but if I am selected to play, I would want to make a difference because that’s the  hallmark of a good player, to deliver under pressure,” said Muzokomba yesterday.

The Gweru-born striker has so far netted nine goals this season, all during his time at ZPC Munyati.

However, the power generators will be itching for revenge after going down 0 – 1 in the reverse fixture.

Isaac Nyabvure, the ZPC Munyati gaffer, could not hide his quest for a positive result against the Shurugwi side.

“It is always tough to play against Nichrut if you look at the quality in their side, but we are in the league to compete. We are looking at turning the tables against them considering that we are playing at home,” said Nyabvure.
