URBAN grooves maestro Nox Guni is definitely out to penetrate the continent as one of his latest singles, Papi has found its way to Tanzania.

Papi is receiving regular airplay on Wasafi TV Radio. The song is also moving up the ladder on MTV as it made top 30 best African videos this past week and was number six on Trace Africa’s hottest top 10 hits in Africa. With a lot of rotation on Channel O and Soundcity, Papi was number nine on best-selling singles on Apple Music.

Speaking from his base in South Africa, Nox who is enjoying the success of his collaboration with DJ Tira on ‘Stay with me’, said the love and support he continues to receive from fans has shown that his songs appeal to fans across the African continent.

“It’s motivating to know that I’m doing well, not only in South Africa and back home in Zimbabwe but also in other countries like Tanzania.

My brand is growing very quickly and I don’t think there’s an artiste in South Africa who doesn’t know my name,” said Nox.

He said he hopes his success will inspire other musicians especially those back home to work hard to realise their dreams.

Nox who was part of the urban grooves revolution in which other artistes such as Maskiri rose to prominence in the 90s, is an artiste who has managed to stay afloat through reinventing himself.

The singer from Zaka, Masvingo province, released his first album titled Wandipengesa in 2004.

Ever since then, the Ndinonyara hit-maker has grown from strength to strength and is now a sought-after artiste following his recent collaborations with Master KG and DJ Tira. He has six studio albums to his name and plenty of singles.
