Sandra Ndebele’s self-titled 10th album launch tomorrow will be a star-studded affair as the likes of social media personalities; Mai TT, Madam Boss, Lorraine Guyo, South African musician Professor and Mr Brown are among the celebrities expected to attend.

The album launch will be held at the 4 000 seater ZITF Hall 3 where Sandy will be celebrating nearly 20 years in the music industry.

Babongile Sikhonjwa and Zaza The Zazalicious One will be the hosts. Performances will come from Professor, Platform One, Mzoe 7, Stormzy The Real Majaivana, HitKid, Mr Brown, DJ Eugy Oskid and Kadijah.

Tickets to the album launch, according to Sandy, are selling fast, something that she thanked the Bulawayo community in particular and Zimbabwe at large for.  Speaking after a day-long rehearsal session on Wednesday, Sandy said all was set for the big event.

“For the launch of my 10th album, I want to do something special as I will also be celebrating 17 years in the music industry. When I called my friends in the industry inviting them to the launch, they all confirmed that they were coming to support me.

“Professor is coming down, Platform One, a group that I was a fan of and a group that performed at my wedding, are also coming, so it’s really exciting,” Sandy said.

“People like Oskid, Madam Boss, Lorraine Guyo and MaiTT are also coming. Others don’t want to be mentioned as they want to be a surprise.”

Sandy said her album will define her.

“There’ll be a different type of sound that people will hear on the album. It’ll show growth and it’s one that’ll define who Sandra Ndebele is and the years I’ve been in the industry,” said Sandy.

Some of the songs on the album are Bambelela, Siyana Neni, Indaba, Gudo Shava and Umuzi which features Platform One.

Sandy has been rehearsing for the album launch at the ZITF PES Studios under the watchful eye of choreographer Saimon Mambazo Phiri.

The hectic rehearsals started last week after Sandy made a casting call for dancers and many heeded.

They have been starting early in the morning and ending in the afternoon with a prayer by the group showing just how dedicated they are.

There are about 20 dancers that will perform with Sandy at the launch with a choir providing backing vocals alongside a live band.

Mambazo said everything was shaping up as the group is grasping the concepts of the album launch.
