“We are yet to work on the 2012 fixtures as we await Zifa to furnish us with their programme of events for the coming year,” said Ndebele.
With the Nations Cup finals, to be co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon starting 21 January to 12 February, the local league will definitely start well after that month, most probably mid March.
The start of the league might be disturbed by appeal claims by the four relegated PSL clubs, Zimbabwe Saints, Kiglon, Masvingo United and Shooting Stars as well as the on-going Centralgate investigations by Zifa.

The four relegated clubs are arguing that their relegation was a result of corruption on the part of referees who were dancing to the tune of big spending clubs who could afford to splash money.
According to the Fifa calendar of events, there will be four weekends of official matches and three weekends of international friendly matches for the coming year.
Besides the Nations Cup qualifiers, the first official match weekend will be on 8-12 June, with 15 August set for international friendly matches.  The next two months will see nations busy with qualifiers, first on the

weekend of 7-11 September, followed by October qualifiers that will be held mid-month.
The Zimbabwe Warriors will be involved in early qualifiers when they engage Burundi in the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier to be held in the neighbouring South Africa.

The first round will be played in late February before concluding in June.
There will also be preliminary qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
