THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) says it is working on giving football fans who will attend the big clash between Highlanders and Dynamos on Sunday the perfect football experience.

Speaking at the end of a pre-match meeting held at a city hotel yesterday, PSL marketing manager Rodwell Thabe said they are ready for the start of the season.

“We just had a pre-meeting which meant to ensure we deliver the best service in a safe and secure environment in a family atmosphere. The meeting included stakeholders involved in the match organisation that is your police, cashiers, private security, ambulance services and emergency response teams just to map up and plan for this match.

“The meeting was great. We look forward to this fixture on Sunday as much as we look forward to other great fixtures during the season. As you notice we have started the season with a bang with this match pitting Highlanders and Dynamos. We urge football fans to come in their numbers,” said Thabe.

He also touched on the issues covered in the meeting.

“The critical matters covered included safety and security because of paramount importance is to make sure the game is played in a sporting atmosphere that is indented with fair play. We also looked at administrative issues to make this match a success. We had to particularly zone down to match arrangements starting from today leading to the day of the game. Today (yesterday) in particular we are doing a stadium sweep and making recommendations. We want to deliver the best spectacle for Zimbabwe,” said Thabe.

Both Dynamos and Highlanders had representation at the meeting.

“The response from Dynamos and Highlanders is positive. We have agreed to improve on certain areas and the clubs are co-operating. They realise a match of this magnitude must be delivered to perfection. We have agreements in place that should make this game a success. The people of Zimbabwe must be prepared to enjoy the best game in recent years,” said Thabe.

The minimum price for a ticket has been pegged at US$5, while the VIP and VVIP are going for US$10 and US$20 respectively.

The match will kick off at 3 pm.

The game brings a special feel to it as the football giants will clash in the opening week of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League which happens to be a rare scheduling of the big fixture. — @innocentskizoe
