ZIMBABWE cricket all-rounder Sikandar Raza has been named among the Pakistan Foreign Minister’s Honours List for 2021.

This honour recognises achievements of Pakistanis based abroad and is the second edition in which Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi acknowledges outstanding young Pakistanis from around the globe under the theme “Leaders Under-40”.

Reacting to the inclusion in the list, Raza said he is humbled by the gesture from the Pakistan government.

“It has certainly taken a whole day to absorb this massive honour for myself, family and friends. Just speechless and humbled to be honest. Once again thanks for this recognition,” tweeted Raza.

Raza has represented Zimbabwe in 17 Tests, 101 ODIs and 42 T20Is.

He recently captained a young Zimbabwe side in a T20I series against Bangladesh, winning one and losing two. The all-rounder is expected to be picked for the upcoming tour of Ireland and Scotland.

However, the experienced Raza and Brendan Taylor are not part of Zimbabwe’s squad for the five T20Is against Ireland, as Zimbabwe Cricket seek a fresh new start in the format.
