as all the city’s three clubs in the National Rugby League are at home tomorrow.

Star-studded Matabeleland Warriors will play host to Old Hararians in the main game of the day while Old Miltonians are at home to Airforce with Western Panthers set for a tough match against defending champions Old Georgians.

All the games will be played at Bulawayo’s ceremonial home of rugby Hartsfield Stadium.

Tapiwa Mangezi the Matabeleland Rugby Football Board chairman said before kick off tomorrow, they would observe a minute of silence in honour of former rugby players who passed on.

Among those who will be remembered are former national team star Arnold Takawira and ex-Plumtree High School flanker Modrick Makotose who passed on last year.

“What the Zimbabwe Rugby Union has said is that every year we will have certain days to honour the departed rugby players who contributed to the sport by observing a minute of silence before we play. That day happens to be Saturday and we hope the sport lovers will come in their numbers to celebrate with us the good things our departed brothers did for the sport.

“The matches set for the weekend are interesting and I believe all Bulawayo teams playing for the first time this season at home on the same day will be out to collect maximum points,” he said.

Mangezi plays for Matabeleland Warriors who are coached by national team gaffer Brendan Dawson and go into tomorrow’s game against Old Hararians as favourites.

The visitors just like Matabeleland Warriors have a number of talented players capable of giving the home team a good run for their money.

Sables and Cheetahs’ duo of Jafet Ndebele and Lloyd Macha-njaira are expected to help  Matabeleland Warriors run over Old Hararians.

Other Matabeleland Warriors players who the team can bank on include Terrence Kuvarega, Ozy Lynx and Paul Staak.

George Mukorera coached Western Panthers will have to be at their best to surprise defending champions Old Georgians who boast of a number of national team players who include Cheetahs’ skipper Jacque Leitao.

Panthers’ veterans Silethokuhle “Slatter” Ndlovu and Masumba Siyamupinda are expected to lead a youthful but determined outfit that has the likes of Irvine “Bhuda” Nduwa, Knowledge Moyo and Malvern Gomo.

Former champions Old Miltonians who lost a number of their players to Matabeleland Warriors will be hoping to register their first victory of the season and collect maximum points against Airforce.

They have George Savada, Justin McKay, Tawanda Mhora, Sandile Lupuwana and Ezekiel Moyo to bank on.
