THERE are three matches left before the curtain comes down on the 2016 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season and it’s that time of the year when football enthusiasts haggle about players that should be honoured.

Premiership coaches and their club captains as well as football journalists will select the 11 players for the 2017 Castle Lager Soccer Stars of the Year calendar next month.

Chronicle Sport invites readers to nominate 11 players they believe excelled this season and deserve to be honoured.

“We are giving our readers an opportunity to select their best 11 players of the season, including the one they believe should be the Soccer Star of the Year and his two runners-up. We also want our readers to select their own Coach of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Referee of the Year,” said Chronicle Sports Editor Dingilizwe Ntuli.

Chronicle Sport will publish the readers’ 11 most nominated players of the week every Saturday until the official selection process is done after the final league game at the end of November.

Chronicle Sport will then release its readers’ 2016 Soccer Stars of the Year alongside the official Castle Lager Premier Soccer League list.
