A TEENAGER from Fort Rixon allegedly raped his two-year-old neighbour’s daughter while her five-year-old brother watched from a distance.

A court heard that the teenager (16), whose name has been withheld for ethical reasons, raped the toddler and left her bleeding.

The teenager was not asked to plead to rape last Thursday before Bulawayo magistrate Ms Sharon Rosemani.

Ms Rosemani granted him $20 bail and remanded the matter to January 5 for trial.

Prosecuting, Mr Mclean Ndlovu alleged that the teenager raped the minor on October 27 this year.

Mr Ndlovu said: “The teenager came out from the bush and called the toddler to where he was standing. He laid her on the ground and allegedly raped her once with her brother watching a few metres away.”

“He threatened to beat the five-year-old if he told anyone about what had happened,” he said.

The court heard that the toddler’s brother narrated the alleged rape to his mother after she asked him why his younger sister was bleeding.

Meanwhile, a Form Three pupil from Entumbane High School in Bulawayo also appeared in court after he allegedly raped his nine-year-old niece several times while they were home alone.

The 17-year-old from Mabutweni suburb would summon the minor to his grandmother’s bedroom, lock the door and allegedly rape her.— @MondelaC
