AS award-winning biologist, natural historian and author Sir David Attenborough once said: “The natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living.”

In an urgent effort to raise awareness of the threats to African wildlife and the importance of conservation and protection of the natural world, Wild Africa Fund has embarked on the biggest wildlife conservation campaign in Africa.

The campaign will feature iconic African animals such as elephants, rhinos, and lions, and will be used to promote the organisation’s mission of protecting African wildlife.

Africa’s natural heritage is running out of time. In the last 50 years, two-thirds of the continent’s wildlife has been lost because of poaching, habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and other factors. This loss has had devastating impacts on the ecosystems and local communities.

The wildlife campaign is a necessary move to protect and restore the continent’s natural heritage for future generations.

Announcing the exciting news via social media sites Wild Africa Fund, stated: “In partnership with Alliance Media Africa, we’re championing the protection of Africa’s wildlife as part of the largest billboard campaign, which has reached 54 million people across 12 countries and 75 screens to date.”

Africa’s natural heritage is under threat not just from poaching and human-animal conflict, but also from climate change; thus, the premise of this wildlife campaign is critical to wildlife conservationists’ attempts to safeguard Africa’s natural heritage. Wild Africa Fund, in cooperation with Alliance Media Africa, is using social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook to raise awareness of Africa’s concerns and advocate for more sustainable practices on the continent. This involves encouraging biodiversity protection, combating illegal wildlife trade, and mitigating climate change.

“The billboard campaign across several African countries will feature Africa’s Big Five icons, elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards and buffalos, while also promoting the organization’s objective to safeguard African wildlife. Through this collaboration with Alliance Media Africa, the billboards will additionally include a call to action to safeguard African wildlife, as well as information on how to help. The Wild Africa Fund continues to inspire Africans to recognize that poaching indeed steals from us all.
